La Birkin bag è ormai simbolo di lusso e femminilità, realizzata dal marchio Hermès, prende il suo nome dall’attrice Jane Birkin.

Il costo può variare dai 6000 euro, fino ad arrivare a più di 120.000! Una birkin bag di pelle di coccodrillo ed impreziosita da diamanti è stata addirittura venduta all’asta per 65.000 euro.

Come nasce la BIRKIN BAG?

L’attrice Jane Birkin racconta che durante un volo verso Parigi, incontrò lo stilista di Hermes, Dumas; nell’aprire la sua borsa le caddero fogli ed appunti. Dumas prese la sua borsa, e gliela restituì dopo qualche settimana aggiungendo una tasca. La Birkin raccontò allo stilista la sua difficoltà nel trovare una borsa femminile ma allo stesso tempo comoda per una donna, che ha sempre mille cose nella sua borsetta. Da questa descrizione, Dumas realizzò la Birkin Bag che conosciamo, facendola recapitare direttamente a casa dell’attrice.
