Vi racconto la mia Vienna.

Non è un paese semplice da descrivere, nell’aria si respira musica, arte ed eleganza, e sono tantissime le cose da vedere che una settimana non mi è bastata!

Partiamo dall’imponente duomo di Santo Stefano, situato nell’omonima piazza Stephansplatz, considerato il cuore della città, pertanto l’albergo lo consiglierei in questa zona in modo che sia tutto più o meno raggiungibile a piedi o in metro. 

Per quanto riguarda lo shopping: la zona più trendy di Vienna è di sicuro la Mariahilifer Strasse, strada lunghissima che a metà diventa pedonale, qui troverete tantissimi negozi di abbigliamento, bigiotteria e accessori low cost.

Nel centro storico invece, tra la Kartner Strasse, il Kohlmarkt e il Graben, potrete dedicarvi agli acquisti nei negozi di lusso, non manca nessun brand, Hermes, LV, Saint Laurent, Tiffany, Miu-miu, Prada..etc.

Avendo scelto di andarci in questo periodo natalizio, ho potuto ammirare le migliaia di lucine che ornano il paese, dai lampadari dalle piccole luci oro nella via chic di Vienna, alle case con luminarie particolari, insomma si respira il Natale in ogni dove. Ci sono tantissimi mercatini sparsi per la città, il più bello di tutti a mio avviso è quello situato nella piazza del Municipio, RATHAUS PLATZ, una vera e propria piccola città fiabesca, con tantissimi mercatini dalle tipiche casupole di legno, l’odore di cannella, di cioccolata, di punch caldo, di caramelle, di pan di zenzero ti pervade. Gli alberi sono tutti illuminati, c’è l’albero di cuoricini, quello con i cup-cake, i trenini di legno, i campanelli, la giostra con i cavalli ed una casa con un orsacchiotto che racconta fiabe.

Gli altri mercatini sono tutti sullo stile tipico dei paesi di montagna e sono in KarlsPlatz, nella strada FREYUNG, nella piazzetta AM HOF, all’ingresso del castello di Schönbrunn, in Maria-Theresien-Platz, nel Luna Park PRATER (un giro sulla antichissima ruota non deve mancare!) e quelli più nuovi nella piazza del Duomo di Santo Stefano.

Cosa mangiare? Ovviamente la tipica Wiener Schnitzel, una cotoletta enorme, e consiglio di andare almeno una volta nel ristorante Figmuller  (Bäckerstraße n.6) che la cucina grande e sottilissima, si taglia quasi senza coltello, mettetevi pazientemente in fila (c’è sempre la sera) e non ve ne pentirete!

Poi le tipiche zuppe, di zucca, di patate o la caratteristica di Gulash, consiglio di provarle alla “viennese” ossia in qualche chioschetto nei mercatini, sono servite in grosse pagnotte con un buco al centro ed il coperchio sempre di pane..ottime!

E poi le mele caramellate, il Brezel (tipico pane sia dolce che salto dalla forma annodata)ed i tanti e tanti dolcetti che troverete sulle bancarelle.

Tornando alle visite un pò più “culturali” rispetto a cibo e shopping, entrate nello sfarzoso Castello di Schönbrunn, residenza estiva della principessa Elisabetta, meglio conosciuta come Sissi, e non perdete il famoso Zoo di Vienna alle spalle del Castello, il più grande d’Europa e gli animali sono tenuti davvero bene, in estrema pulizia e benessere. Se amate la storia della principessa Sissi, fate un salto anche al Palazzo di Hofburg, dove ci sono gli appartamenti della bella, indisciplinata e malinconica principessa.

Insomma Vienna è cultura, ma anche shopping, fiaba e sapori, perdetevi tra le stradine del centro e fermatevi dove più vi piace, restate anche solo a guardare l’ordine e la pulizia di questa città, vi lascerà a bocca aperta.

I tell my Vienna.
It is not a country simple to describe, in the air we breathe music, art and elegance, and there are so many things to see that a week was not enough!
We start from the impressive St. Stephen’s Cathedral, located in the square Stephansplatz, considered the heart of the city, so I would recommend the hotel in this area so that everything is more or less reached on foot or by metro.
About shopping: the trendiest area of Vienna is certainly Mariahilifer Strasse, a long road that in the middle becomes pedestrian, here you will find many shops selling low-cost clothes, jewelery and accessories.
In the old town instead, between the Kartner Strasse, Kohlmarkt and Graben, you can go to upscale shopping, not missing any brand, Hermes, LV, Saint Laurent, Tiffany, Miu-miu, Prada..etc.
Having chosen to go this Christmas season, I could see the thousands of lights that adorn the city, from the chandeliers with small gold lights in the street chic of Vienna, the houses with special lights, in short, breathes Christmas everywhere. There are many markets scattered around the city, the most beautiful of all, in my opinion, is the one located in the Town Hall Square, RATHAUS PLATZ, a real small fairytale town, with many markets by typical huts of wood, the smell of cinnamon , chocolate, hot punch, candy, gingerbread fills you. The trees are all lit, there is the tree of hearts, the one with the cup-cakes, wooden toy trains, the bells, the carousel with horses and a house with a teddy bear that tells fairy tales.

The other markets are all with the typical style of the mountain villages and are in Karlsplatz, in FREYUNG street, in the square AM HOF, at the entrance of Schönbrunn Palace, in Maria-Theresien-Platz , in the Luna Park PRATER (a ride on the old wheel must not miss!) and the new ones in the square of St. Stephen’s Cathedral.
What to eat? Obviously the typical Wiener Schnitzel, a huge fried meat, and should go at least once in the restaurant Figmuller (Bäckerstraße 6) that make it very large and thin, you can eat almost without cutting with a knife, stand patiently in queue (there is always queue in the evening ) and you will not regret!
Then the typical soups, pumpkin, potato or characteristic Goulash soup, advice to try them in “Viennese” mode, in some kiosk in the markets, soups are served in huge loaves with a hole in the center and the cover always made of bread..superbe!
And then caramelized apples, the bretzel (typical knotted bread) and many, many sweets that you will find on the stands.
Returning visits a little more “cultural” than food and shopping, revenue in the opulent Schönbrunn Palace, the summer residence of the Princess Elizabeth, better known as Sissi, and do not miss the famous Vienna Zoo behind the Castle, the biggest of Europe and the animals are kept really well, extremely clean and well-being. If you love the story of the princess Sissi, head even at Hofburg Palace, where there are the apartments of the beautiful, undisciplined and melancholy princess.
So Vienna is culture, but also shopping, fairy tale and flavors, get lost among the narrow streets of the center and stop wherever you like, stay even just to look at the order and cleanliness of this city, will leave you speechless.

La mia GUIDA di BERLINO..ve la racconto! Consigli e posti da vedere!

Vi racconto un pò la mia BERLINO, per dare un pò di consigli a chi ha intenzione di visitarla! Appena ho detto che sarei stata una settimana a Berlino, quasi tutti la ritenevano una scelta infelice, in quanto Berlino è considerata come una città dalla storia pesante e tragica, ma esiste il lato colorato di Berlino e vorrei mostrarvelo.

Primo giorno: La parte piu’ centrale, dove consiglio di prenotare l’hotel o l’appartamento è sicuramente il MITTE, precisamente nella zona della FriedrichStrasse, io ho pernottato a 20 metri dalla piazza che ritengo sia la piu’ bella della città, ossia Gendarmenmarkt, un pezzo di Parigi al centro di Berlino, con il Konzertaus al centro e le due chiese gemelle laterali (una francese ed una tedesca) e i suoi bar e cafè all’aperto. Nel periodo di Natale la piazza si riempie di mercatini di Natale molto caratteristici.

La zona del Mitte, Friedrichstrasse e Under den Linden sono le zone con la maggior parte di negozi inn, c’è il centro commerciale La Fayette, tantissimi negozi e la cioccolateria piu’ famosa di Berlino, ossia “Fassbender und Rausch” (Charlottenstraße 60), e il megaStore della RITTER Sport (Französische Straße 24), dove consiglio vivamente di andare, puoi creare la tua tavoletta Ritter personalizzata in soli 30 minuti!

Percorrendo Under den Linden (Tradotto sarebbe “Sotto i Tigli”), si arriva alla famosa Porta di Brandeburgo, accanto poi il Reichsstadt (il Parlamento) con la sua cupola di vetro, da cui si vede tutta Berlino ed il suo immenso giardino davanti.
Se il tempo lo permette consiglio un giretto anche nel Parco Tiergarten, piu’ che un parco, una foresta, con disseminate zone idilliache con laghetti, scoiattoli e statue, da cercare perdondosi un pò all’interno del parco. Prendete una bicicletta (10€ tutto il giorno) così avrete modo di girarlo al meglio.

A 500mt di distanza c’è poi Holocaust-Mahnmal, un monumento per le vittime ebree, piu’ di 2.700 stele fatte di calce grigia, tutte di altezza diversa, creano un labirinto claustrofobico dove si perde il senso dell’orientamento, proprio per rappresentare il senso di oppressione delle vittime ebree.

Secondo giorno: La zona dei musei è una vera e propria isoletta dove ci sono ben 5 musei tutti vicinissimi e c’è il maestoso Duomo di Berlino, la zona è la Museumsinsel. Io sono stata solo nel museo PERGAMON MUSEUM, che consiglio anche a chi non è amante dei musei perchè la maestosità dell’altare dedicato a Zeus, ossia l’altare di Pergamo e la ricostruzione della porta di Ishtar che dava accesso a Babilonia, è davero da lasciare a bocca aperta. Prenotate on-line se potete, così risparmierete le ore ed ore di fila.

Dalla zona dei musei si passa poi per il Duomo e via..a passeggio lungo lo Spree, il fiume che attraversa Berlino per poi fermarsi ad uno dei tanti ristorantini o cafè sul lungofiume, io consiglio “HeAt“, ristorante dell’Hotel Redisson, per provare il caratteristico CurryWust ( wustel con salsa al ketchup e curry). Si arriva poi facilmente ad Alexander Platz per vedere la torre della TV, altro simbolo di Berlino, alta 368 mt, qui troverete il centro Commerciale Alexa, lo Store low cost Primark. Non è bellissima come piazza, un pò caotica ma comunque da vedere.

Terzo giorno: Non si può andare a Berlino, senza vedere la East Side Gallery, in Mühlenstraße ( prendete la metro  e scendete a Berlin Warschauer Strasse), quel che resta del muro ormai è diventato una vera galleria d’arte all’aperto, dove artisti internazionali hanno lasciato su quelle pareti di pietra il loro senso di libertà, i loro messaggi nascosti dietro coloratissimi disegni. La Street art è parte integrante di Berlino, la respiri ovunque, per strada facile incappare in un palazzo con un enorme disegno sulla parete o sculture disseminate qua e la. Il muro simbolo di sofferenza, di schiavitù e di repressione ora è colore, arte e senso di libertà. La “galleria” è lunga 1,3km quindi vi prenderà quasi mezza giornata. Nel pomeriggio riposatevi facendo un giro in battello lungo lo Spree.

Quarto giorno: Postdamer Platz, centro commerciale e nuovo di Berlino, qui si trova il Sony Center, un vero pezzo di arte Moderna, e la Torre Panoramapunkt con l’ascensore più veloce d’Europa. C’è il centro commerciale Arkaden, all’interno da non perdere il gelato italiano di “Caffè e Gelato“, davvero sublime! Spostatevi poi nella zona di Kurfürstendamm, dove si trova l’Hard Rock Cafè ed il Centro Commerciale più grande d’Europa, ossia il KA DE WE, enorme paradiso per le shopping-addicted! Girovagate per la zona, è piena di cose da vedere!

Volutamente non ho inserito il Check Point Charlie a metà della Friedrichstasse, ex punto di passaggio tra la zona Sovietica e quella Americana, una sorta di dogana del tempo, ma ormai è un posto prettamente turistico, con delle persone vestite con abiti da soldati che chiedono soldi per fare una foto con loro. Nulla di che insomma!

Ho riassunto un pò la mia esperienza, ma Berlino è una scoperta continua, piena di cose da fare e di colore da respirare.

Let me tell you a little bit of my BERLIN, to give some advices to those who plan to visit Berlin! First day: The centre, where I advise to book your hotel or apartment is definitely the Mitte, specifically in the area of Friedrichstrasse, I was 20 meters far from the square which I think is the most’ beautiful in the city, called Gendarmenmarkt, a piece of Paris in the heart of Berlin, with the Konzertaus in the center and the twin churches (one French and one German) and its bars and outdoor cafes. During Christmas time, the square is filled with Christmas markets very characteristic.
The area of Mitte, with Under den Linden Street and Friedrichstrasse, is the area with the majority of shops, there is a shopping center La Fayette, many shops and the most famous chocolaterie in Berlin,called Fassbender und Rausch (Charlottenstraße 60)  and the store of RITTER Sports (Französische Straße 24), where I highly recommend to go, you can create your own customized Ritter tablet in just 30 minutes!
Going Under den Linden, we arrive at the famous Brandenburg Gate, then the next REICHSSTADT (Parliament) with its glass dome, where you can see all of Berlin and with its huge front yard.
If time permits also recommend a stroll in the park Tiergarten, more ‘than a park, a forest, with scattered areas with idyllic lakes, squirrels and statues. Take a bicycle (10 € for ll day) so you will be able to turn it to the fullest.

Then a 500 mt away,there is Holocaust Memorial, a monument to the Jewish victims, more ‘than 2,700 stele made ​​of lime gray, all of different heights, creating a claustrophobic maze where you lose all sense of direction, just to represent the tightness of the Jewish victims.

Second day: The museum area is a kind of island where there are 5 museums all very close and there is the majestic Cathedral of Berlin, the area is the Museumsinsel. I’ve only been in the museum PERGAMON MUSEUM, which I recommend even to those who are not fond of museums because the majesty of the altar dedicated to Zeus, that is, the Pergamon Altar and the reconstruction of the Ishtar Gate which gave access to Babylon, really leave you speechless. Book on-line if you can, so you can enter without queue.
From the museum then goes to the Dome and go..a walking along the Spree River, which runs through Berlin and then stop at one of the many restaurants or cafes on the waterfront, I recommend “HeAt”, the restaurant of Redisson Hotel to taste the characteristic CurryWust (wustel with ketchup and curry sauce). Then we arrive easily at Alexander Platz to see the TV tower, another symbol of Berlin, 368 meters high, here you will find the Center Commercial Alexa, the low cost Primark Store. Day Three: You can not go to Berlin without seeing the East Side Gallery, in Mühlenstraße (take the metro and get off at Warschauer Strasse Berlin), what remains of the wall has now become a real outdoor art gallery, where International artists have left on the stone walls their sense of freedom, their messages hidden behind colorful designs. The Street art is an integral part of Berlin, breaths everywhere, in the streets you will encounter a building with a huge picture on the wall or sculptures scattered here and there. The wall symbol of suffering, slavery and repression now is color, art and sense of freedom. The “East Side Gallery” is 1.3km long and then you will take almost half a day. In the afternoon rest by a boat trip along the Spree.
Fourth day: Potsdamer Platz, mall of Berlin, here is the Sony Center, a real piece of modern art, and the Tower Panoramapunkt with the fastest elevator in Europe. There is a shopping mall Arkaden, inside do not miss the italian ice cream “Coffee and Gelato”, really sublime! Move then in the Kurfürstendamm area, where you will find the Hard Rock Cafè and the largest shopping center in Europe, is the KA DE WE, enormous paradise for shopping-addicted! Wander around the area is full of things to see!
I did not intentionally added to Check Point Charlie in the middle of Friedrichstasse, a former crossing point between the Soviet and the American zone, a sort of the customs of the time, but now it is a purely tourist place, with people dressed in clothes as soldiers who ask money to make a picture with them. None of that really!
I summed up a little in my experience, but Berlin is a continuous discovery, full of things to do and color to breathe.

ZANZIBAR ISLAND..different emotions!

Zanzibar è davvero un’isola da scoprire, ti riesce a dare emozioni diverse. La grande bellezza e’ la sua natura incontaminata, boschi e foreste con scimmie e baobab di una bellezza straordinaria e poi i villaggi..non ci si rende conto, se non li si va a visitare almeno una volta nella vita, della semplicita’ e poverta’ della vita di questo popolo. Vivono in case (se possiamo definirle tali) di fango o di mattoni, i piu’ fortunati le hanno in pietra, vivono scalzi ma con abiti coloratissimi, le donne indossano abiti che le ricoprono quasi totalmente, colorati e con fantasie tipicamente africane. I bambini ti sorridono con gli occhi e ti chiedono una “pippi” che in swahili significa “caramella”..e se gliene porgi una, la loro gioia sprizza da tutti i pori!

Si puo’ vivere di mare e sole, ma puoi anche divertirti con le tante escursioni proposte. Si puo’ andare a Prison Island, o anche detta isola delle tartarughe giganti, ce ne sono alcune anche di 180 anni, poi si puo’ girare per la foresta delle spezie, la foresta delle scimmie rosse, si puo’ raggiungere la lingua di sabbia al sud dell’isola o andare a vedere il famoso ristorante “The Rock Restaurant”, un ristorante creato su una roccia, e tutto intorno..l’oceano!Si puo’ anche andare a dare un’occhiata a Stone Town, la capitale, con i suoi negozietti tipici, pieni di souvenirs ed il famoso mercato, dove è conveniente comprare le spezie. Per chi è debole di stomaco non consiglio di andare a visitare l’ala del mercato dove si vende la carne e il pesce, l’area è tempestata di mosche, sulla carne, sul pesce e di cattivo odore! alla fine del mercato del pesce viene fatta un’asta, pesci su un banco di pietra e centinaia di persone che gridano il prezzo, il pesce viene venduto al migliore offerente.

La zona piu’ bella è il nord dell’isola, dove non esiste il fenomeno delle maree che fa “sparire” il mare e costringe a fare chilometri di piattaforma per raggiungerlo, e non esiste il fenomeno delle alghe.

L’unico consiglio che mi sento di dare è di fare attenzione ai “beach boys”, questi ragazzoni che si trovano sul bagnasciuga della spiaggia (vicino agli ombrelloni non gli consentono di venire..e meno male), che insistono e insistono per farti comprare un braccialetto, un pareo, la placca di ebano con il nome tuo e del tuo fidanzato e tanto altro..il problema è che se compri da uno, devi comprare da tutti. ti si accalcano intorno e ti chiedono chiedono chiedono..a volte sono stati fastidiosi! quindi acquistate e quello che vi va e via, senza farvi impietosire, perché esagerano!

Per il resto sono stata felice di aver provato questa esperienza, l’Africa ti resta dentro..per sempre!

Zanzibar is an island to explore, here you can feel different emotions. The great beauty is an ‘unspoiled nature, woods and forests with monkeys and baobab of extraordinary beauty and villages..don’t you realize, if you do not  go to visit at least once in life, simplicity and poverty of the life of this people. They live in houses (if we can call them such) of mud or brick, the more ‘lucky” have a houre made of stone, live barefoot but with colorful dresses, women wear clothes that cover them almost completely, colorful and with fantasies typically of Africa. Children smile at you with their eyes and ask you a “pippi” which in Swahili means “candy” .. and if you give a candy, their joy oozes from every pore!

You can ‘live by the sea and sun, but you can also have fun with the many excursions offered. You can ‘go to Prison Island, or also called “the island of the giant tortoises”, there are also some 180 years old, then you can’ turn to the forest of spices, red monkey forest, you can ‘reach the sandbar to the south of the island or go to see the famous restaurant “The Rock Restaurant”, a restaurant founded on a rock, and all arond..just ocean! You can ‘also going to take a look at Stone Town, the capital, with its typical shops full of souvenirs and the famous market, where it is cheaper to buy spices. For those who are weak of stomach shouldn’t go to visit the wing of the market where they sell meat and fish, the area is studded with flies on meat and fish and foul of smell! At the end of the fish-market is done an auction, fishes are on a stone bench and around there are hundreds of people who shouted a price, the fish is sold to the highest bidder.

The most ‘beautiful is the north of the island, where there isn’t the phenomenon of the tides (the sea “disappeared” and forced to walk miles on a Platform) , and there isn’t the phenomenon of algae.

The only advice I feel to give is to pay attention to the “beach boys”, these boys who are on the shore of the beach (near the umbrellas do not allow him to come.. thank goodness), who insist and insist to make buy a bracelet, a pareo, ebony plaque with your name and your boyfriend and so on..the problem is that if you buy from one, you have to buy from everyone. Swarming around you and ask and ask yand ask you ..were sometimes annoying! So purchased what you like and go away, without making you pity, because they exaggerate!

For the rest, I was glad I tried this experience, Africa remains inside of you.. forever!

A paradise called..ZANZIBAR!

Immaginavo esistesse un paradiso da qualche parte nel mondo..ed ora l’ho trovato..Si chiama ZANZIBAR! Oggi e’il mio primo giorno qui, dopo 9h e 45′ di aereo da Milano, si arriva in un aereoporto che tutto sembra tranne quello che dovrebbe essere. Una stanza rovinata con un bancone, li sopra vengono posizionati a mano i bagagli, e i passeggeri devono riconoscere il proprio e portarlo via, nessun rullo mobile, quindi tanta attenzione a beccare la propria valigia. Appena fuori, una massa di persone ti toglie praticamente la valigia di mano, pur di portartela fino al furgoncino per guadagnarsi una mancia. Dopo un’ora di pullman, tra capanne, mercatini di banane, bimbi dolcissimi e donne dai foulard con colori vivacissimi e tipicamente africani..siamo arrivati nel nostro villaggio : GOLD ZANZIBAR BEACH & RESOT SPA. Un vero paradiso terrestre. La sabbia bianca, il mare blu e questi ombrelloni enormi stile capanna. Oggi mi godo il relax e la pace, domani in giro per escursioni e tanto tanto sole!!

I imagined that existed a paradise somewhere in the world..and now i found..It is called ZANZIBAR! After an hour of coach, between huts, markets of bananas, loveable children and women with vibrant colors and typically African scarves ..we arrived in our village : GOLD ZANZIBAR BEACH & RESORT SPA. A true paradise on earth. The white sand, blue sea and enormous hut style umbrellas.
